Balochistan: Priority for Speedy Development

Minister for Housing and Works Rahmatullah Kakar said the government was according high priority to speedy development of Balochistan and mobilising all available resources to provide basic amenities of life to the people.

He said this while talking on Monday [20 October 2008] to Provincial Minister for Health Amirullah Shams and Minister for Balochistan Development Authority, Haji Muhammad Nawaz Khan, who called on him and discussed matters pertaining to the problems of the people of Balochistan.

The minster said Balochistan was endowed with vast mineral deposits and their exploitation would bring revolutionary changes in the lifestyle of people and socio-economic development of the country.

Rahmatullah Kakar told the ministers that the government would construct housing units for the poor, needy government servants and the general public, aimed at providing shelter to the shelterless people. The provincial ministers said the development of backward areas would remove the sense of deprivation of the local people.
