Tatarstan: Youth Dialogue Promotes Tolerance

June 19, at international press center of RIA “Novosti” press conference dedicated to results of international conference on “International Dialogue: OIC-Russia” was held in Kazan with participation of young leaders from member-states of Organization of Islamic Conference and Russia. Initiators of the event in which representatives of 15 OIC member-states leaders of youth organizations of Tatarstan, representatives of youth organizations of Russia took part, were OIC Youth Forum and government of Tatarstan.

AzerTaj informs that Secretary General of OIC Youth Forum, Elshad Iskenderov, stressed that this event was held for the first time and initiator was its co-chair from Russian part, President, M. Shamiyev. In the course of the conference the main purpose of which was making acquaintance with living conditions of Russian Muslims, meetings with President of Tatarstan, Minister of Youth, Sport and Tourism, Minister of Culture and other officials were held.

Following results of plenary meetings communiqué was adopted representing, as a matter of fact, program document on cooperation between OIC Youth Forum and Ministry of Youth and Sport of Tatarstan. It said that all subjects of Russian Federation in which Muslim Youth Communities are functioning enjoy rights to enter OIC Youth Forum. Particularly, Tatarstan enjoys such right. It was unanimously decided to hold conferences every year, to publish booklets for liquidation of islamophobia.
