Bougainville: Commonwealth secretary-general to visit Bougainville


Mr McKinnon will visit Buka and Arawa, speaking to Bougainville political and community leaders
Untitled Document The Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Don McKinnon, has arrived in the Papua New Guinea capital, Port Moresby, ahead of a flying visit to Bougainville.

Mr McKinnon, who as New Zealand's foreign minister was instrumental in the island's peace process, will visit Buka and Arawa, speaking to Bougainville political and community leaders.

Mr McKinnon will depart on Friday before heading to Fiji for the seventh Commonwealth womens' affairs meeting.
