Sindh: Musharraf Arrives Sukkur to Convince People on Large Dams


President Pervez Musharraf arrived in Sukkur Thursday in the first leg of his visit to various parts of Sindh to convince people on the urgent need of constructing large water reservoirs and dams
SUKKUR: President Pervez Musharraf arrived in Sukkur Thursday in the first leg of his visit to various parts of Sindh to convince people on the urgent need of constructing large water reservoirs and dams.

Governor of Sindh Ishrat-ul-Ebad, Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim and federal and provincial ministers received the president on his arrival at Sukkur Airport.

A stage was set near the Sukkur Airport for Musharraf’s address to a gathering with sitting arrangements for hundreds. District, taluka nazims, tribal chieftains, notables and people from various walks of life have been invited from Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Larkana, Shahdadkot, Qambar and surrounding areas to attend the meeting.

President after Sukkur will arrive in Karachi and will hold a meeting with intellectuals and political and nationalist leaders.

President Musharraf will also visit Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar and Matyari in interior of Sindh. He will hold meetings with influential political and social leaders, intellectuals and notables in these areas to convince them about the importance of construction of large water reservoirs and dams.
