An Executive Committee meeting was held at the Secretariat in The Hague on May 12, 2001. The Committee was presented with an activity report compiled by the various Secretariat departments. Aspects such as finances, donor funding, participation of UNPO Members, and new membership applications, were discussed.

The Committee expressed its appreciation to the UNPO staff and directors of departments for their dedication and initiatives, reflecting a clear improvement of the Secretariat's structures and a consistent increase in activities on behalf of Members. The following members attended:
