The Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN has called on the UN Secretary-General António Guterres to react to Russia's violation of international law in occupied Crimea. The statement reports that in the morning of 7 July 7, six Crimean Tatars, including a person with a disability, were detained by Russian security forces after their houses were raided. Ukraine opened a criminal investigation into the illegal searches in Crimean Tatar homes on the occupied peninsula.

Ukraine has called on UN Secretary-General António Guterres to react to Russia's violation of international law in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
“Russia raids homes in Crimea early in the morning [on July 7] when families are still asleep, unlawfully detaining six Crimean Tatars, including a person with a disability,” reads the statement "This is how the terror tactics work" published by the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN on Facebook.
As noted, international law prohibits arbitrary interference with a person’s privacy and home.
“Russia as an occupying power must cease detaining Crimean residents for politically motivated grounds. The human rights of protected persons [in the occupied territories] must be guaranteed. We call on the UN Secretary-General to react to the ongoing deterioration of the human rights situation in the occupied Crimea,” the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN underscores.
As reported, on Tuesday morning, July 7, Russian security forces raided the homes of Crimean Tatars and detained seven people in four districts of the occupied Crimea. Ukraine opened a criminal investigation into the illegal searches in Crimean Tatar homes on the occupied peninsula.
