Madhesh: Central Coordinator of Swatantra Madhes Gathabandhan Arrested

Following the crackdown on the Alliance for Independent Madhesh (AIM) two weeks ago, the authorities have now arrested Kailash Mahato, the Central Joint Coordinator of Swatantra Madhes Gathabandhan. Mr Mahato was giving a speech on Sunday 14th October when the police arrested him and 23 other activists. UNPO strongly condemns Nepali authorities’ activities against peaceful assembly and Madheshi people’s inalienable right to self-determination.
