Earlier today, July 17 [2018], Iran’s terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) heavily shelled the border region between eastern (Iranian) and southern (Iraqi) Kurdistan, where the Peshmerga Forces of Kurdistan have some of their bases. Aside from causing damage to villages and civilian property located in the area, two brave Peshmerga were martyred in the shelling.

Since 2015, Iran’s terrorist IRGC has repeatedly shelled the border region between eastern and southern Kurdistan. Today’s heavy shelling comes against the backdrop of IRGC terrorist forces being defeated serval times this summer inside eastern Kurdistan at the hands of urban Peshmerga units.

The names of the two brave Peshmerga who were martyred today are Rahim Rostam Dastan from the city of Mahabad and Idris Darweshi from the city of Piranshahr.

The leadership of PDKI and the Central Command of Kurdistan’s Peshmerga Forces send their deepest condolences to the families of our latest martyrs and the Kurdish nation.
