Newsletter May 2017

In May 2017, the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) convened a series of events focusing on human rights in Pakistan, such as a European Parliament conference on ethnic and religious rights, as well as an academic conference on Pakistan, China and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Another focus of UNPO’s work in May was a high-ranking conference on indigenous rights in Brazil, which took place at the European Parliament and brought together various Guarani-Kaiowá leaders, MEPs and academics. Other activities taking place this month included a conference on Iranian national minorities taking place in Washington, DC and the release of a newsletter dedicated to the plight of the Hmong of Northern Laos.
