Football for Peace Tournament - UNPO World Cup 2017


The Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation in cooperation with the City of The Hague, the Umubano foundation, the International Network foundation and Wereldse Zaken is organizing an intercultural footbal tournament in The Hague, the Netherlands on 17 June 2017. The UNPO World Cup 2017

The most global of sports brings together people of all parts of the world to join in friendly, peaceful competition. The organizers of the tournament hope that this event will bring the various cultural groups closer together and give each an opportunity to learn more about the others’ culture.

The 17 June 2017 event will have 12 teams competing for the main prize of the tournament. The day will also host a variety of cultural activities from people and organizations in the multicultural city of The Hague. There will be several stands and information points that provide an opportunity to learn more about the cultural background of the teams.

Participating teams with a background in West Papua, Kurdistan, Burundi, Suriname and many others will compete in this soccer tournament to make this day a celebration of cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence and cooperation.
