In March, the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) went on a fact-finding mission to Iraq, organised a side-event at the 34th Regular Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council and a documentary screening in Brussels and Washington, DC. Moreover, UNPO with the People’s Alliance for Freedom and Democracy (PAFD) convened a high-level conference at the European Parliament hosted by Liliana Rodrigues MEP (S&D) entitled “Women’s Inferno in Ethiopia”, on rife sexual and gender-based violence inflicted upon women from marginalised communities. In addition to this, UNPO organised advocacy meetings for a variety of its members in both Brussels and Washington, DC.
