Abkhazia: Foreign Minister Congratulates New Foreign Minister of Nicaragua

Daur Kove, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, congratulated Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres who was appointed as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua. Mr Kove commended the meaningful and fruitful cooperation between the two countries. Nicaragua is one of the four countries (besides Russia, Venezuela and Nauru) recognising Abkhazia as an independent country. Despite being a fully-functioning and completely independent State since 1993, the international community still does not recognize it as separate from Georgia.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Daur Kove sent a congratulatory note to Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres in connection with his appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua.

The note says, in particular:

"I am deeply convinced that your extensive experience of public service will ensure effective work to further strengthen the country's position in the international arena.

We cherish the relationship between our countries in Abkhazia. We note with satisfaction that the relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Nicaragua are developing in a positive manner; meaningful political dialogue and fruitful bilateral cooperation are established.

Your Excellency, on this occasion, let me express my deep gratitude to the leadership of the Republic of Nicaragua for the effective organization of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the President of Nicaragua, His Excellency Mr. José Daniel Ortega Saavedra. This visit allowed renewing political contacts and giving impetus to further enhance of multifaceted cooperation."
