- I think that the Gagauzian electors made the correct choice by having voted for the representatives of the Communist Party and independent candidates, having thus chosen piece, stability and confidence in the future day – the President has noted.

“The composition of the NA is renovated 77%. On the one side it we greet it, new persons, full of energy came. On the other side, it means that the electors was not satisfied with the activity of many former Parliamentaries and hope that the new NA composition will contribute to a more active solution of the local problems”, Vladimir Voronin has declared.

According to him, Gagauzia has a solid industrial and agricultural potential. There are more than 5300 economic entities, more than 1800 of them being juridical persons.

From the beginning of this year the industrial output of the Gagauzian enterprises constituted 358 million lei or by 59% more, compared with the previous year. The output was increased by 76% in the winemaking, in the canned industry - by 8.4%, in the light industry - by 14.8% and in the building industry – by 24%.

The RM President has particularly underlined that a crude oil refinery with a processing capacity 200 thousand tons is being actively built in Comrat. As soon as it is put into operation the Gagauzian budget will increase two times and will constitute about 200 million lei. Another large object, which is being built is a vegetable oil refinery with a processing capacity of 90 thousand tons of seeds. The both objects will be put into operation in 2004-2005.

- One has also to solve a number of other problems, including social ones. In the first place there are such projects as the straightening of bed of the Ialpug river, the reconstruction of the central street of Comrat, the realization of the program of the installation of gas supply of the territorial unit and beginning from 2004 the continuation of the construction of the water supply system, As soon as the latter two projects are completed, the inhabitants of the village of Cioc-Maidan will have gas and in 2005 all the population of Gagauzia will be provided with portable water, - President Vladimir Voronin has declared.

Vladimir Voronin has expressed confidence that the members of the Gagauzian National Assembly will manifest patriotism and will work fruitfully for the benefit of Gagauzia.
