Crimean Tatar: Convicted VP of Mejlis to Be Defended by Savchenko Lawyer
Having concluded his case of defending convicted Ukranian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko last month, noted public defender Mr Mark Feygin has taken on the case of supporting the Crimean Tatar Mejlis Vice-Chairman Ilmi Umerov. Umerov had previously been convicted of calling for the violation of territorial integrity of the Russian Federation, according to the Russian and Crimean occupation authorities, initiating a large wave of protests from the Tatar community for what is seen as an unjust sentence.
