Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will address the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) on January 25 and outline Georgia’s peace plans for Abkhazia and South Ossetia conflict resolutions.

“We were thinking much about where to voice our proposals [over the conflict resolution]. There were some other venues under the consideration… but finally we decided that the PACE session will be the most appropriate place,” he told reporters on January 17.

Last December, President Saakashvili instructed the government to develop peace concepts for Abkhazia and South Ossetia in close cooperation with the civil society organizations. Recently several proposals, developed by different civil society groups and experts have been presented.

President Saakashvili has not yet specified details of the plan, which he intends to present at the PACE Session in Strasbourg.
