Balochistan: Chief Minister Invites International Community To Send Observers


Chief Minister Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Khan Barozai has invited the EU and other countries to monitor the upcoming elections to ensure their credibility and promising to provide sufficient security and necessary facilities. This gesture is expected to send a positive message to the world about the Balochistan, promoting it as a stable and desirable business partner.

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Khan Barozai asked the European Union and other countries to send their observers to Balochistan for monitoring upcoming polls.

“Their visit will consolidate people’s trust in the credibility of elections and taking effective steps for holding free and fair elections,” the CM said while talking to French Ambassador Philippe Thiebaud who called on him in Quetta on Saturday. French Consul General in Karachi Christian Ramage and France honorary Consul General Brigadier (r) Razzaq Baloch were also present during the meeting.

The chief minister assured the French envoy that if foreign observers visit Balochistan for monitoring upcoming polls, foolproof security and other facilities would be given to them.

He said that a positive message would go to the international community by the arrival of EU delegation. The CM and the French envoy discussed the political and law and order situation of the province.

Expressing deep interest for mineral and other resources of Balochistan, the French ambassador said that France wanted socio-economical development of the province. The envoy assured the chief minister that he would instigate French investors to invest in different sectors in Balochistan.

He said: “France is the biggest business partner of Pakistan in European Union and it is also providing technical assistant to Pakistan.

The chief minister told the French ambassador that the law and order situation of Balochistan was conducive for investment and the government was committed to remove every hurdle in the way of economic and social development of the province.
