Ogaden: Civilians Transported To Jigjiga's Jail


Reporters continue to inform about the extra judicial killings and mass detentions carried out by the Ethiopian military throughout Ogaden.

The reporters throughout Ogaden continue to report extra judicial killings and mass detentions carried out by the Ethiopian military throughout Ogaden. In almost every Ogaden city the reporters detail killings in broad daylight as well as mass detentions of Ogaden civilians.

In one such illegal detention, on April 5th, 2013 the Ethiopian military and its associated Liyu militia detained hundreds of civilians in the villages of Hadanta and Harada and immediately transported to Jigjig’s jail Ogaden. The names of those detained include:

On the 8th of April in the town of Dhanaan which is part of Shabelle province, the Ethiopian military extra judicially killed one nomadic young man. The name of the deceased young man is Ayaanle Bihi Omar. On the 2nd of April, near Qabridahar Ethiopian amry killed two men, their names are said to be Cali Camaje and Shariif Muxumed.  Ogaden Online reporters are still compiling lists of the names of the people who are being held in many parts of Ogaden.

Reports of civilian killings and disappearances follow renewed campaigns by the Ethiopian military to pressure civilians specially those who live in the countryside. It is reported that these military personnel shoot those they encounter in the countryside.
