Crimean Tatars: Prize For Human Rights Advocacy


Mustafa Jemilev, MP of Ukraine and the leader of Mejlis, was awarded the prize ‘’For Combat for the Human Rights’’ in recognition for his continuous struggle for democracy and freedom.

The Organization of Human Rights and Solidarity for Oppressed People“Mazlumder”, located in Ankara (Turkey) awarded the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev the Prize “For Combat for the Human Rights”. News agency “QHA” reports.

The award ceremony will be timed to the Day of Protection of Human Rights that will be held in the Cultural CenterKocatepein Ankara on December 8, 2012.

The ceremony will be attended by the members of Mazlumder, volunteers, academics, writers, and representatives of the labor unions, public organizations and political parties.

Association Mazlumder was founded on January 28, 1991 by a group of persons, aimed at the protection of the human rights of all citizens without any segregation on any grounds or double standards.

Association’s activity is aimed at the protection and development of human rights and freedoms and elimination of any violations of the human rights.
