he PCJSS of the Rangamati Branch organized a two-day a meeting from 22 to 23 July 2004 at Rangamati Town Hall to discuss the current situation in the CHT.

The President of PCJSS Rangamati district branch Gunendu Bikash Chakma, PCJSS General Secretary Chandra Shekhar Chakma and PCJSS Assistant General Secretary Tatindra Lal Chakma were among others who addressed the meeting.

The PCJSS leaders resolved to strengthen their movement for proper implementation of the CHT Accord at the meeting.

In a press release issued at the end of the meeting, the PCJSS leaders demanded immediately removal of all the “temporary military and paramilitary camps” from the CHT, dismissal of the CHT Development Board Chairman Md. Abdul Wadud Bhuiyan from his post, appointment of an indigenous person as Minister in the Ministry of CHT Affairs with full charge, and implementation of other points of the CHT Accord remain unimplemented.

More than 200 PCJSS members attended the meeting.
