Balochistan: Goverment Accords Priority to Socio-Economic Development

He was talking to Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani at the Prime Minister House. He said the fast track development would bring the resource rich province at par with other developed regions of the country. The prime minister directed the concerned ministry for early release of funds for projects under the Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan package. He further said the government has already taken a number of solid steps to implement the three-pronged strategy of constitutional, administrative and financial measures as charted in the package.

He urged the provincial government and the public representatives to monitor the progress ensuring timely completion those projects meant to address the longstanding grievances of the people of Balochistan. Separately, Gilani has urged the need for developing sea transportation between Pakistan and Oman to enhance trade through the Gwadar port. Talking to a three-member delegation from Oman led by Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy Mohammed Nasser Al-Khasibi, Gilani said there were tremendous opportunities of enhancing trade between Pakistan and Oman through maritime transportation and it would also promote tourism and cultural links.
