Below is an article published by Punch:

The President of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People, Mr. Ledum Mitee, has said that the desperation by those he described as the hawks loyal to President Umaru Yar’Adua, to package him back into the country will not change the prevailing political equation.

Mitee, who was reacting to Monday’s exclusive story by The Punch that two life support machines had been imported into the country ahead of Yar’Adua’s arrival within the week, said the decision to stampede him from Saudi Arabia with the aid of life support machines would not alter the psyche of well-meaning Nigerians that the President was medically unfit to preside over the affairs of the country. Mitee said the actions of the associates of the President and the handlers of his health status had done more damage to the country. He also reacted to the recent remarks by former President Olusegun Obasanjo that Yar’Adua should follow the path of honour by resigning. He stressed that though Obasanjo created the problem currently plaguing the country. he, however, advised Nigerians to take the message and ignore the messenger.
