Hmong ChaoFa: Appeal for Release of Activist

Below is information issued by the Hmong ChaoFa:

“On 01 March 2007, Mr. Kee Her, age 22, a Hmong ChaoFa political activist, was shot, resulting in injuries to his right arm and elbow. Mr. Kee Her was later detained, tortured and severely beaten. He remains without proper medical care and is fed only on a small ration once per day. He is in under great physical and mental duress and his health is deteriorating.

Mr. Kee Her was pursued by the Lao PDR authority for advocating for the right to self-determination of the Hmong ChaoFa nation in Laos. His activities were peaceful and non-violent. We call for his unconditional and immediate release.”
