In reaction to Georgian announcements that it is working on a two-unit federation of Georgia and Abkhazia, Abkhazia denounces all such possibilities. Raul Khajimba, prime minister of the republic of Abkhazia, declared this to Interfax on Tuesday.

Khajimba said that "Abkhazia's status as an independent state is documented in the republic's constitution and is not subject to discussion"

"What kind of compromises is Tbilisi talking about? A broad autonomy? But what autonomy within Georgia, however broad, can be discussed after what happened in South Ossetia and Abkhazia in the early 1990s, and after the recent events in Ajaria?" Khajimba said.
