Balochistan: Pakistan to Ban Protests In Front of Parliament


Intelligence agencies in Pakistan have advised the Interior Ministry to ban protest demonstrations in front of Parliament House in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD • Intelligence agencies in Pakistan have advised the Interior Ministry to ban protest demonstrations in front of Parliament House in Islamabad, apprehending that miscreants and terrorist organizations could exploit the situation pretending to take part in the protests.

Intelligence agencies have also reported that the continuity of the protests is tarnishing the image of the country in the world, particularly in the West, and have proposed the allocation of a piece of land in the federal capital where aggrieved parties may stage their protest.

Reports state the trend of protests in front of Parliament House against the injustice meted out by the administration and other elements has increased manifold, official sources here say.

It was further said that people with grievances from the far-flung areas of Balochistan and Sindh have especially traveled to Islamabad to protest in this manner.

Intelligence agencies have also mentioned in their reports that some of these protests, usually those against the atrocities of feudals, continue for weeks.
