Press Statement released by the NF-Board

The Second General Assembly of the N.F.-Board, which took place in London, Saturday 11Th of June 2005, was successful and constitutes a very important step not only for the future of the football of the People and the Nations but also for the N.F.-Board itself. An audience composed of people coming from every corner of the world has participated to the works of this Assembly.

The Executive Committee has been reinforced and is presently composed of 19 members instead of 9 (+ 4 to be confirmed) with, in particular, the nomination of continental “Development Officers”. Moreover, posts in relation with the IGA (Island Games Association) and the Council of “South Pacific Games” have been created.

Then, the Assembly has ratified the affiliation of the following provisional members: Chechnya, South Moluccas Islands, Southern Cameroons, West Papua, Occitania, South Lower Saxony, Romaland, Sealand, Saugeais.

Last but not least, the “Nelson Mandela’s Trophy” has been presented by the French sculptor Gérard Pigault. This trophy will reward the Viva World Cup winner. The official logo of the competitive sport has been revealed too.

Target of this General Assembly, this event, which is a dream for everyone –specially for the isolated territories of the world, which, from now on, will be able to organize their own “Football World Cup” as soon as 2006, in the Northern part –Turkish speaking area- of the Cyprus Island. The Final will take place in the Attaturk Stadium (30,000 seats), situated in the capital.

With 16 teams and a week, the tournament should comprise a first row of 4 groups of 4 teams, the semi-finals, ranking games and, then, the Final. Each team will play five games!

The teams have to register before the 31th of December for a competitive sport strictly reserved for the N.F.-Board affiliated federations.
