Amazigh: CESCR Reviews Morocco's Fourth Periodic Report


The Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) has reviewed Morocco’s Fourth Periodic Report on 1 October 2015.   Prior to the session, the Amazigh World Assembly (AMA) has submitted an alternative report on the treatment of the Amazigh people by Moroccan authorities.

On September 30 and October 1, 2015/2965, the United Nations "The Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee" considered the fourth periodic report of the Moroccan State

This edition saw the participation of several NGOs Amazigh (Tamazgha, Tamaynut, Amazigh World Assembly, Azetta), AMDH, Sahrawis.  These associations and organizations sent to members of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) Alternative reports. The AMA has submitted a report entitled "The Kingdom of Morocco and the rights of the Amazigh," which was developed in conjunction with its consideration of the fourth periodic report of the Moroccan state. This report was presented to the CESCR experts, it is posted, as other reports on the Committee's web page -  see the  report. It includes the main violations of the rights of the Amazigh committed by the Moroccan authorities.

The association Tamazgha (Paris), for its part, also submitted a report entitled "The Moroccan State and the Amazigh question" see report in which it denounced the anti-Moroccan Amazigh political monarchy. Below is a video of Tamazgha representative in Geneva at the end of consideration of the report of the Moroccan State by the CESCR.
