Abkhazia: Georgia Concerned about Russian Peacekeepers in Abkhazia

Georgia may question the legitimacy of the continued presence of Russian peacekeepers in the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict zone
Georgia may question the legitimacy of the continued presence of Russian peacekeepers in the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict zone.

"We are not against the presence of the Russian peacekeepers. What we are talking about is the legitimacy of their stay in the region," Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili told Interfax on Wednesday.

"Russia must play the role of an unbiased mediator," she said. "At certain moments, Russia stops being objective. If we find out some day that Russia has departed too far from its obligations and responsibility, we shall draw the appropriate conclusions," she said.
