The government Monday deferred a scheduled meeting with two top leaders of the separatist National Socialist Council of Nagalim-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM).

NSCN-IM chairperson Isak Chisi Swu and general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah,
had arrived here Sunday night to discuss contentious issues, including creation of a "Greater Nagaland".

Home Minister Shivraj Patil was to have held talks with Swu and Muivah, but he was preoccupied with an urgent discussion on a bill to replace an anti-terror law in parliament, official sources said.

It was not immediately clear when the talks would take place, with a home ministry official stating that: "A new schedule is yet to be fixed."

The two self-exiled NSCN-IM leaders arrived here Sunday night on the invitation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to hold talks with the government to establish peace in the state.
