Brussels, 12 February 2013
The Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) will be launching Dutch photojournalist Frans Welman’s latest book, ‘Naga Culture: Free Against the Odds’ at the European Parliament on Wednesday 20 February 2013.
This photobook is an exploration of the rich and unique culture of the little known Naga people who live in the mountainous regions between India, Myanmar and China. Welman’s beautiful photography and illuminating commentary perfectly capture the lives of the isolated Naga communities and demonstrate the fascinating diversity amongst the different tribes that constitute the Naga people.
Mr Welman will provide attendees with an insight into his experience of Naga culture and life. He will be joined by Marino Busdachin (UNPO General Secretary) and representatives of the Naga community. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers and to view and purchase the book.
More information on the conference is available from www.unpo.org/article/15490
