Ukraine Polls contested by Crimean Tatars


An active voter instruction has been distributed among Crimeans during the second round of the presidential elections of Ukraine

According to the Crimean Tatar lawyers League 50 % of Belogorsk voters were deprived votes at the elections on October 31. The Crimean Tatar lawyers league "Initsium" with assistance of the Regional resource agency "Krim-prospect" has prepared «an active voter instruction» which has been distributed among the Crimeans during the second round of the presidential elections of Ukraine.

In particular, composers of the instruction informed on the cases in which the bulletin can be nullified, and also have alerted the Crimeans to check up the presence of their surnames in the voters lists and the brought data correctness beforehand. According to Head of the Crimean Tatar lawyers League "Initsium" the circulation of «an active voter instruction» has been distributed in Crimea through public organizations, and also through regional mejlises.

On November 21 a telephone conversation of Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, People's Deputy of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev with the candidate for Presidents of Ukraine, the block «Nasha Ukraina» leader Victor Jushchenko took place. During the conversation Victor Jushchenko was interested in the general situation in Crimea, in a voting process. Mustafa Dzhemilev in his turn informed about a number of infringements, including the incident in hostels of Tavrida National University.
