Nagalim: Tribal Body Meets Central Leaders on Peace Process


A team led by Naga Hoho president Keviletuo Kiewhuo met with responsible authorities of the Indian government engaged with Indo-Naga peace process as well as with opposition leader of the Lok Sabha.

As decided at a consultative meeting, convened by Naga Hoho May 8, at Kohima, a five-member team led by Naga Hoho president Keviletuo Kiewhuo visited Delhi in the third week of June and met responsible authorities of the government of India engaged with Indo-Naga peace process.


Naga Hoho, in a statement issued by its publicity and information secretary C. Daipao, stated that the team also met with opposition leader of the Lok Sabha and the Naga negotiator to impress upon them “the need to hammer out an honourable settlement of the Indo-Naga issue at an early date.”

According to Naga Hoho, the responses were “positive and encouraging”, adding it was assured of the “seriousness and sincerity” for working out a settlement that “is workable, honourable and sustainable at the earliest possible time.”

Meanwhile, the Hoho team also had a consultative meeting with members of the Delhi Cell of Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) and Naga Students Union Delhi (NSUD) to update them on the Delhi visit.
