SpeakOut! 2012 - International Human Rights Training


International Human Rights Training Program

8th - 10th August 2012, The Hague.

SpeakOut! is taking place in the International City of Peace and Justice - The Hague, held at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael, from the 8th to the 10th of August 2012.

 

SpeakOut! is designed to bring together UNPO Member youth from a wide range of nations and backgrounds alongside young professionals in The Netherlands with a deep interest in Human Rights, in order to learn and develop a mutual understanding and working knowledge of Human Rights advocacy, and provide a forum to network with peers.

 

The aim of SpeakOut! is to successfully train young trainers to become reliable channels of Human Rights advocacy, supported by interactive workshops, UNPO designed literature and study materials, participants become capable of re-teaching the skills and knowledge gained on effective Human Rights advocacy, United Nations tools and mechanisms, grassroots funding, and effective lobbying practices.


SpeakOut! participants will develop a Personal Action Plan to inspire other youth in their native communities, the youth of disenfranchised groups, encouraging exponential growth of Human Rights knowledge and advocacy skills, and subsequent empowerment of participants, and UNPO Member youth.

Kindly note that UNPO is unable to arrange or fund travel and accommodation. We can recommend accommodation upon request. A participation fee of €40 is requested to cover facilitation, lunches and publishing of training manuals. All aspects of the event will be conducted in English.
