Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina Tuesday [22 May 2012] directed the authorities concerned to expedite the implementation of the ongoing development projects of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) region, reports BSS.

The PM gave the directives when parliament members of the CHT region-State Minister for CHT Affairs Dipankar Talukdar, Bir Bahadur and Jatindra Lal Tripua- called on her at her office this afternoon.

After the meeting, PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad briefed reporters. 

He said the CHT lawmakers apprised the PM of various ongoing development programmes of CHT and as well as problems of the region.

Sheikh Hasina gave a patient hearing to the problems of CHT region and gave necessary instructions to this end.

PMO Secretary Molla Waheeduzzaman, CHT Affairs Secretary Nabo Bikram Kishore Tripura and PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad were also present on the occasion.
