Ambitious plans to provide radio Hargeisa broadcasts nationwide are about to be realized.

Reports indicate that the transmitter purchased by the ministry of information has arrived at port of Berbera pending its offload and subsequent delivery to the ministry's headquarters in Hargeisa.

According to ministry sources the transmitter and other accompanying equipment will be installed as soon as they are delivered to the proposed site at the ministry's headquarters.

Once the equipment is installed the state radio station currently with a broadcast transmission capacity covering 50 square miles will have the capability to transmit nationwide as well as be received in other Horn Countries.

For a long time Somalilanders have desired for this service that is only available to residents of Hargeisa and adjacent areas thus welcome news for all.
