Abkhazia: PACE Rapporteur Begins 4-Day Investigation

Today a new PACE rapporteur, Swedish parliamentarian Tina Aketoft begins four-day visit to Abkhazia to prepare a report on the situation in the occupied territory of Georgia.
The representative of the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Population will visit Sukhumi and Gali (Abkhazia, Georgia) from 12 to 15 December to prepare a report on humanitarian situation in the region – journalists were told in the office of the Assembly.
Aketoft was appointed a new PACE rapporteur in April. As part of the tour she will meet with representatives of NGOs and workers of the office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
