Active ImageAmnesty International on Tuesday called on Iran to halt the execution of a Kurdish man sentenced to death for “enmity against God” in connection with his alleged membership in an illegal opposition group.

Below is an article published by Washington TV:

Ehsan Fattahian is scheduled to be executed on Wednesday at a prison in the western city of Sanandaj, capital of Iran’s Kurdistan Province.

The London-based human rights group said it was concerned that Fattahian may have been tortured while in detention, and that he was sentenced to death after an unfair trial.

Fattahian is said to be a member of Komala, a Marxist Kurdish opposition group.

According to Amnesty International, two other Iranian Kurdish men are also feared to be at imminent risk of execution.

The rights group has urged the Iranian authorities to commute the death sentences of all three men.
