While representatives of indigenous groups, non-governmental organizations and governments spoke on indigenous rights at the 22nd Session of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations, the UNPO team was hard at work compiling its annual monitor of their statements and thoughts.

This Monitor is an important resource for those groups looking for primary source accounts on issues like conflict resolution, free, prior and informed consent and the UN draft declaration on the rights of indigenous people. Louise Arbour, the UN's High Commissioner for Human Rights, called the Working Group the "think-tank on indigenous issues."
